Solutions / Personal and family
Family paperwork, out of the group chat.
Buying a house, sorting out a parent’s affairs, moving, getting married. The documents you need are with other people, and a group chat is where they go to get lost. One list, a link for each person, and reminders that stop the moment they are done.

What a mortgage application waits for
A broker needs the same pile from everyone named on the mortgage, and from anyone helping with the deposit. Put it in one pack, give each person the requests that are theirs, and send it. A remortgage is the same list, only shorter.
- Photo ID for everyone on the mortgage
- Proof of address from the last three months
- Payslips for the last three months
- Bank statements for every account
- Proof of income if you work for yourself
- Where the deposit is coming from, with statements
- A signed letter from whoever is gifting part of it
- Details of any loans, cards or finance
- Buildings insurance from the day you complete
One list, and a link for each of them
No account, no password
Everyone gets their own link to the requests that are theirs. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to install, so it works for a parent in their eighties as well as it does for you.
Reminders you do not have to send
Put a due date on the list and reminders go out on the schedule you choose, listing only what is still outstanding. They stop on their own when the list is done.
A photograph is fine
A payslip or a letter can be photographed on a phone, and it lands on the request it answers, dated, with the name of whoever sent it.
A parent’s affairs, shared between you
When a parent moves into care or dies, the paperwork tends to land on whoever lives nearest. Make one room for it and give each brother and sister the requests that are theirs. You can see what has arrived and what is still to find; each of them sees only their own list.
- One request per account, policy or pension
- Comments on each, so the conversation stays with the document
- The whole room downloads as one ZIP, for the solicitor or the tax adviser

Any list of things other people have
A wedding has a dozen suppliers, each owing you a signed contract, a deposit receipt or a final number. A club treasurer needs a receipt for everything spent in the year. A house move needs meter readings, keys and new addresses from half the family. Each of them is a list, some people and a date, which is all a room needs.

What this is not
Docsroom asks for the documents, keeps the dates and hands everything over in one download. It is not a broker, a solicitor or a financial adviser, and it does not judge whether a document is the one they need. It gets the paperwork into one place, from the people who have it, so whoever advises you starts with everything to hand.
