Questions people ask
Do the people I ask need to pay or sign up?
No. They use private links. They never create an account, and there is no charge per person on any plan.
What counts as a team member?
Anyone on your side who signs in to Docsroom, whatever their job title. The people you ask, and anyone they pass a request to, are not team members, and there is no limit on them.
Can I move between plans?
Yes, at any time. Moving up takes effect straight away and is charged pro rata; moving down takes effect at the end of the current period.
Where is my data stored?
On the Solo and Team plans, on our servers. On the Office plan you can choose our servers or run Docsroom on your own. Either way the database and uploaded files are yours and can be exported at any time. See Security.
How does email sending work?
Request emails and reminders are sent from an address on your own domain through Resend. Setting it up takes a few minutes and is covered in the help centre. Until it is set up, you can still create links and share them yourself.
Is my data backed up?
Yes. Every night the database and every uploaded file are written into one archive, and the newest 30 are kept. You can also export any workspace as a ZIP at any time. See Backups and restore.
Is there two-factor authentication?
Yes, on every plan. Each team member can turn it on with an authenticator app and gets recovery codes for a lost phone; the Team page shows who has it on, and an admin can remove it for someone locked out. The people you ask are not affected, because they use private links rather than passwords. See Two-factor authentication.
Do the people I ask see my own name and logo?
Yes, on every plan. An admin sets the name, a reply-to address and a logo under Organisation on the Settings page. They appear on the portal, the phone upload page, the portal sign-in page and the footer of request and reminder emails; your own screens stay Docsroom. See Your branding.
Is there a discount for charities or training providers?
Yes. Tell us who you are and we will sort it out.
