What to set
Choose Settings in the left-hand rail, then the Organisation tab, then Branding & defaults. Admins see it; everyone else does not. Three fields decide what the people you ask see:
- Organisation name: up to 80 characters. The name they see wherever the logo would go, and the name emails are sent under.
- Reply-to email: where a reply to a request or reminder email lands. Leave it empty and replies go to the sending address.
- Website: optional, an http or https address. When it is set, your name or logo at the top of the client portal links to it.
The same section holds two settings that are nothing to do with the look: how long client links stay open, and whether people are reminded before a needed-by date.
Below the fields, Upload logo takes a PNG, JPEG or SVG file up to 512 KB and shows it as it will be seen; once one is there the button reads Replace logo. Remove logo takes it away and puts the name back in its place. The foot of the section says when this was last changed and by whom, and every change is recorded in the activity trail.
Where each thing appears
Client portal header
What they see: Your logo, or your name if no logo
Then: A quiet “via Docsroom” after it
Also: The client name stays on the right
Phone upload page
What they see: Your logo or name, at the top
Also: On the page the QR code opens
Client sign-in page
What they see: Your logo or name, above the email box
Also: Where someone gets a fresh link
Request and reminder emails
What they see: A footer: “Sent by your name using Docsroom for the client”
Also: Replies go to your reply-to address, if set
Staff screens and the staff sign-in page stay Docsroom-branded. Until a name has been saved, the people you ask see the Docsroom mark everywhere and emails say Sent securely by Docsroom.
Choosing a logo file
In the portal header the logo stands about 28 pixels tall, so a wide logo on a white ground reads best; a tall or square mark shrinks to a small square at that height. An SVG stays sharp on every screen. Look at the preview at the size it shows, not the size of the file you uploaded.
Without a logo
Nothing is missing. Your name stands in the logo’s place in the portal header, on the phone upload page and on the client sign-in page, with via Docsroom after it, and emails carry the same footer. Plenty of businesses run this way and add a logo later.
Check it as they would. Add yourself as a person on a client, create a link, and open it. The header, the phone page and the sign-in page all read from the same setting, so if one looks right they all do.
