Downloading files
One archive, organised the way the requests were, with a record of what you took.
Choosing what to take
Download files opens a review page rather than a ZIP straight away. For a whole client, choose Download all files under Client actions, the dots menu beside the client’s name; for one request pack, choose it under Request list options, the dots menu above that pack’s request list. Under Choose files, pick:
- All files in the client or pack.
- New files added after a previous download, which is the usual choice on a monthly job.
- Up to a download: everything that existed at a previous download, to reproduce exactly what you had then.
The last two only appear once there has been a first download, and each asks which previous download you mean, listed by date, person and kind.

What you get, and what is recorded
Selected files lists exactly what is going in, with the request each file came from, who uploaded it and its size. Files are grouped by pack and request inside the ZIP, with unique names. History is separate for each client and each pack. Under Download history, each entry records who took it, when, which of the three kinds it was, the file count and the size. Uploads arriving after a download stay new for the next one.
The browser holds the whole ZIP in memory before saving it, so a very large export needs a browser with room for it. For very large clients, download by pack.
Looking before you download
A PDF or a photo in a request thread, or on the Files page, opens in a preview when you choose it, so you can check it is the right tenancy agreement, or the right month, without leaving the request. The preview has its own Download button. Other kinds of file, a spreadsheet say, download straight away. The people you ask get the same preview on their own page, and in a data room a preview counts as a view in the access log.
