Help centre / Upload from a phone
Upload from a phone
For receipts, certificates, ID, letters and anything else that is on paper.
Getting the code
Open a request, on your side or on theirs, and in the reply box choose Upload from a phone. A QR code appears, with Copy phone link underneath if it is easier to send the address. Scanning it with a phone camera opens a page with the request’s title, a camera button and a reply box. Photos and notes land in the request’s conversation like any other reply, and whoever opened the code can Send for review from the phone.

What to know
- The link is private to the request it was opened from, and the page says the date and time it stops working: 30 minutes after it was made.
- Nothing needs installing; it is a web page, and there is no sign-in.
- Replies are recorded under the name of whoever opened the QR code: the person you asked, or the member of your team.
On your own network. When Docsroom runs on a machine in the office, the QR link uses that machine’s network address, so the phone has to be on the same Wi-Fi. The dialog says so when it is. For phones elsewhere, set the app’s public HTTPS address; see Email setup.
